Privacy Policy

1. Overview
LunchKit is operated by White Dot Creative Inc., a corporation registered in Ontario, Canada ("we", "us"), which is responsible for your personal information under this policy. The App is designed with your family's privacy in mind. We collect only the minimum data necessary to make the App work, we never sell your personal information, and we give you full control to delete your data at any time. This Privacy Policy explains what we collect, why we collect it, how we use it, and the choices you have. By using LunchKit you agree to the practices described here.
2. What We Collect
By default, LunchKit stores all data on your device: children's first names and nicknames, allergen and dietary profiles, pantry inventory, custom recipes, meal ratings, and grocery lists. If you create an account, we also store your email address and the identifier provided by your sign-in provider. We do not collect usage analytics, we do not use any advertising or tracking SDK, and we never collect your precise location or any payment card details.
3. How We Use It
We use your data solely to provide and improve the App's features: matching recipes to your pantry and each child's safety profile, enabling Pro features for subscribers, syncing your data across your devices when you sign in, and responding to support requests you submit to us. We do not use your data for advertising, do not build behavioural profiles, and do not make automated decisions that significantly affect you based on your personal information.
4. What We Don't Do
We do not sell, rent, or share your personal information with advertisers or data brokers. We do not serve targeted advertising inside the App. We do not track your physical location. We do not build profiles of your children for any purpose beyond providing personalised meal safety filtering within the App. We do not use children's data for marketing or share it with any third party except as described in this policy.
5. Third Parties
A small number of services help us operate the App, and each is listed here because it actually processes data on our behalf. Supabase hosts our database and handles sign-in; if you create an account, this is where your children's profiles, pantry, meal plans and saved recipes are stored. Apple provides Sign in with Apple, sharing only a unique identifier and, if you choose, your name and email address. Apple's App Store processes subscription payments and RevenueCat records which subscription you hold โ we never see your card details. If you use the AI meal suggestion feature, the ingredients in your pantry and your child's dietary restrictions are sent to Anthropic to generate a suggestion; your children's names are not included. Each provider maintains its own privacy policy governing data it independently collects.
6. Children's Privacy
LunchKit is managed exclusively by adults. We do not create accounts for children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information directly from children. All children's profiles โ names, allergens, avatars โ are entered and managed by a parent or legal guardian. If you believe a child under 13 has submitted personal information to us without parental consent, please contact us at support@theoryofhomes.com and we will delete the relevant data promptly.
7. Data Storage & Security
Data you store without signing in remains only on your device and is never transmitted to our servers. When you create an account, data is encrypted in transit using TLS and encrypted at rest in our database. We follow industry-standard security practices, but no system is perfectly secure. You are responsible for keeping your device and account credentials safe. In the event of a breach that affects your personal information, we will notify you as required by applicable law.
8. Your Choices
You can permanently delete your account and all associated data from the Profile screen at any time. Deletion is irreversible and removes your children's profiles, pantry, meal plans, and account information from our servers within 30 days. You may also request a copy of the personal information we hold about you, or ask us to correct it, by emailing support@theoryofhomes.com. You may manage notification permissions from your device settings; revoking them may limit certain App features but will not affect core functionality.
9. Cookies & Tracking
The LunchKit mobile App does not use browser cookies. We use no third-party tracking SDKs for advertising purposes, and we do not participate in cross-app tracking. If you use any web-based companion features we may release in the future, those will be governed by an updated version of this policy that discloses any cookies used at that time.
10. Where Your Data Is Stored
We operate from Ontario, Canada, and handle personal information in accordance with the Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA). The service providers listed in Section 5 store and process data on servers that may be located outside Canada, including in the United States, and that data may therefore be subject to the laws of those countries. By using the App you consent to this transfer. We rely on contractual safeguards with each provider to ensure a comparable level of protection, and where the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) applies to you, on standard contractual clauses.
11. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we make material changes, we will notify you within the App and update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Your continued use of the App after the effective date of the updated policy constitutes acceptance of the changes. We encourage you to review this policy periodically to stay informed about how we protect your information.
12. Contact
If you have questions or concerns about this Privacy Policy or how we handle your data, please email support@theoryofhomes.com, the support address operated by White Dot Creative Inc. We aim to respond within five business days.
